Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 19, 2026  ·  Locked In for Android  ·  Developer: KA Dev

This Privacy Policy describes how Locked In ("the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use our Android application. By using Locked In, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Locked In does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers. The app operates entirely on your device.

The following data is stored locally on your device only and is never sent to us:

— Your list of blocked apps and scheduled blocks
— Focus session settings and preferences
— Your selected app theme
— Your PIN, stored as a salted hash using PBKDF2WithHmacSHA256 in Android's EncryptedSharedPreferences
— Your recovery email address (optional), stored in encrypted local storage

2. Accessibility Service

Locked In uses Android's Accessibility Service to detect when a blocked app is opened and display a block overlay. This is the standard Android mechanism for app-blocking functionality.

Our Accessibility Service only listens for foreground app changes. It does not read screen content, capture keystrokes, access messages or notifications, monitor browsing activity, or transmit any data. Its sole function is to trigger the block overlay when a blocked app is detected in the foreground.

We request the minimum required event types for this permission. No data collected via the Accessibility Service is stored or transmitted.

3. Recovery Email and OTP

Providing a recovery email is entirely optional. If you choose to provide one, it is stored only on your device in encrypted storage. We do not store it on any server.

If you request a PIN reset, your email address is transmitted to Resend (resend.com) solely to deliver a one-time 6-digit verification code. This is the only circumstance in which any data leaves your device. Resend's privacy policy is available at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.

We do not send marketing emails, newsletters, or any other communications.

4. Advertising

The free version of Locked In displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect standard advertising identifiers and device information to serve and measure ads. This data is processed by Google in accordance with their Privacy Policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy.

You may opt out of personalised ads by resetting or deleting your Android Advertising ID via Settings → Google → Ads on your device.

Purchasing the "Remove Ads" in-app purchase permanently disables all advertising within the app.

5. Data Backup

Locked In explicitly disables Android's automatic cloud backup for all sensitive app data, including your PIN, recovery email, and blocked apps list. This data remains on your device and is not uploaded to Google's backup servers.

6. Third-Party Services

Locked In uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

Google AdMob — advertising (free version only) · policies.google.com/privacy
Resend — transactional email for PIN reset only · resend.com/legal/privacy-policy
Google Play Billing — in-app purchases · payments.google.com/payments/apis-secure/u/0/get_legal_document?ldo=0&ldt=privacynotice

7. Children's Privacy

Locked In is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at support@lockedinapps.com and we will take prompt action to delete it.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, uninstalling Locked In permanently deletes all app data. We hold no copies of your information on any external system that would require a separate deletion request.

9. Your Rights

As we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is no data held by us to access, correct, or delete. For data processed by Google AdMob, you may exercise your rights directly with Google. For any questions regarding data processed by Resend during a PIN reset, contact us at support@lockedinapps.com.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
